Leg Pain Results in Double Amputation

The woman knew that there was a major problem, as she had pains in her legs. She had a history of blood clots and had a filter installed in one of the main veins of her heart. She went to the hospital ER outlined her problem. She was discharged with a diagnosis of bilateral leg pain.

Three days later, her legs were bright red and she called an ambulance and was taken to a different hospital. Evidently, her filter was blocked with blood clots and because she had waited, there was dead tissue in her legs and she was starting to go into kidney failure. Several weeks later when she came out of a coma she discovered both her legs had been amputated to save her.

Mother of Cerebral Palsy Girl Seeking Stem Cell Cure

A mother is hoping that stem cell research could provide the secrets which can be used to cure her daughters Cerebral Palsy. The 9 year old girl suffers from epilepsy, asthma and cerebral palsy.

It is alleged that the young girl suffers from cerebral palsy because of mistakes which were made during her birth. The girl was in an awkward position which meant that the mother really should have been offered a caesarian section. However, the pregnancy was allowed to continue as normal but she didn’t give birth until two weeks after the due date.

The family have successfully filed a case against the doctor in the emergency room. They have received a settlement of $1 million. Once all of the New York Medical Malpractice Lawyer fees were paid, the rest of the money was put into a trust fund.

Woman is suing UVA for Medical Malpractice

A 54 year old woman has had her life turned upside down as a result of poor medical care. Just five years ago she was an active person who spent time riding horses and playing sports. Now she cannot walk without a cane and gets tired very easily.

As a direct result of the mistakes which were made she is missing a finger and two toes. She also cannot use her right arm at all.

The patient alleges that almost all of her injuries are caused because of medical malpractice and errors. The New York Medical Malpractice Lawyer indicated that she has already had to pay out $200,000 in medical fees to pay for the treatment which caused the problem.

DOCTOR FAILED TO FOLLOW UP AFTER DETECTING A TUMOR

A New York medical malpractice lawyer was able to move a case forward on behalf of a woman whose doctor did not appropriately follow up after she consulted him regarding a tumor in her breast. The problem began when the woman detected a mass in her right breast during a self-exam. She consulted the defendant doctor, who both examined her and had a mammogram performed. The mammogram was inconclusive, but the exam revealed, in the words of the doctor, that there was “something there.” Specifically, the doctor realized that the tumor had grown quickly, but concluded based on the mammogram that cancer was unlikely. Nonetheless, the doctor recommended that a biopsy be performed immediately. The woman had the biopsy performed by a specialist, who called the woman’s doctor and recommended that the lump be removed. Unfortunately, this was never communicated to the woman, nor was she advised to come in for a follow-up exam. Doctors in New York City and Queens must be on the lookout for this type of situation which can turn into malpractice.

Subsequently, the woman noticed that the lump was becoming more visible and changing shape. She went back to the doctor, and had a second examination, a mammogram, and a sonogram. Based on these test, the doctor changed his mind and concluded that she “probably” had cancer. A second biopsy was performed, and this time the woman was advised that she had “invasive cancer.” Unfortunately, by this time eleven months had transpired, and the woman’s conditioned had worsened.

The court ultimately allowed a case against the doctor to go forward because of the lack of appropriate follow-up care. The court focused on the “layperson’s report” – the report that the doctor gave his patient – and noted that the report did not indicate that the lump was suspicious or possibly malignant, did not indicate that other examinations were necessary, and did not check boxes for further consultations, surgical or otherwise.

New York City Medical Malpractice Lawyer Evaluates Chinese Malpractice Case

Her father says that the hospital she was at should have performed the surgery almost two years sooner than it actually took place. Parents Settle $8.5 million in Birth Injury Malpractice

The parents of a five year old boy filed a malpractice suit due to injuries sustained during the birth of their son. The case has been settled after being in court for just three days explains a prominent New York Medical Malpractice Lawyer.

Patient Dies after Routine Surgery

A group of prominent NYC Medical Malpractice Lawyers has filed a case on behalf of the spouse of a patient who died after knee surgery. The patient passed away two days after the surgery due to an injury of the brain.

The patient had surgery on his left knee in April 2010 in Northwest Georgia Orthopedic Surgery Center. The entire medical team was made aware that the patient suffered from obstructive sleep apnea. This put him at a higher risk than normal for various complications after the surgery.

Brain damage at birth severely harms baby

In this case, the father of a brain damaged baby filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against the attending doctor. In the original trial, the court found the doctor guilty of malpractice and granted a motion to set aside the damage award of $1,500,000, because it was not enough. A new trial was ordered to set damages.

On appeal, the court held there was plenty of evidence to show that the on call attending doctor didn’t properly supervise the treatment offered by his residents during the birth of the baby in this case.
